Max Oil Pressure

Post by GAHorn »

In a recent thread, Bruce stated:

I responded about a conversation I'd had with the TCM representative who anecdotally stated that oil pressure up to 60 psi is OK in the O-300 series engines. Someone else then mentioned that it'd have been nice if TCM had put that in writing. (Certainly a good comment.)

Today I was reading thru TCM Form X30015 "Operators Manual", an FAA Approved document, and read on page 1, Specifications, that "Oil Pressure (cruising) (lbs/sq. in.)" is 30-60.

Just wanted to mention that now we've seen it in print from the mfr.

What document are you referring to, Karl? I'm referring to the document displayed at the Members Page. (I'm pretty certain it's the same one displayed on your members page as well.)

Under Specifications C-125 shows 30-40, C-145 30-45, and for the O-300 it's 30-60.

When I'm talking max oil pressure I have a 0-300A installed. Otherwise it's a C-145.

Thank you for this

my 'new' engine is running at almost 50 psi at cruise and I was getting concerned

it is the smoothest engine I have ever flown behind

but this info gives me a bit more peace of mind about it
