Axle Shims
Does anyone know how to measure the shims to determine the part number for adjusting the toe in/out and the camber for the MLG of the C-170? Hal, 5568C

Here's a link that may help you. Keep in mind that the distance the shim displaces a 6:00 wheel at it's rim is the measurement they are discussing.

Axle Sims
Thanks Geo for the response to my shim question. I should be more specific as I have some shims in my tool box and would like to determine the P/N. Is there a way to measure the thickness at the thickest corner and/or the thinest corner to determine the P/N ?

That's an excellent question, and I don't have that data. I don't know if Cessna will part with it either, but one of the distributors might be willing to "mic" a few to let you know. Post the results if you get them!
You might be able to deduce the PN's if you have a sufficient number of shims.... They only made a few shims and obviously the one with the thickest corner will be the one with the most adjustment, the one with the thinnest measurements will have the least effect, etc etc.

Axle Shims
Hal,
I had to buy shims for my 172 conversion. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to measure them before I shimmed the axles. I didn't buy them new, but they all have what looks like the Cessna ink stamp part numbers so here is what I have:
0541111-2 .191 .148 .103 .060
0441139-5 .090 .079 .052 .039
0441139-6 .125 .105 .062 .041
