My 1952 170B/Edo 2000s came with a McCauley 2-position prop. It got stuck in cruise pitch, so I couldn't get on the step.

Maxwell Prop was unable to service it since they were deemed obsolete in the early seventys. It was previously serviced by Anderson Prop near Chicago.

It worked well for the 3 hours I got to use it.

There's a picture of my 170 in "Vintage Airplane," April 1997 p. 11, with the old prop on it. I don't have a scanner.

FWIW, the TC for the Aeromatic is now owned by Kent Tarver - Tarver Propellers in Fallon, NV ( http://www.aeromatic.com ). He is apparently certified to overhaul hubs and produce new blades. There's a fair amount of info on his website, although it is a bit awkward to wade through.
