Parts Manual CD ROM

I just bought a parts manual CD ROM from McCurtain Technology Group ( http://www.mccurtainTG.com ) for $20 that covers all 170 models. It's well done and easy to use. I loaded it to a folder on the hard drive and then sent the "autorun.exe" file to the desktop as a shortcut. This allows me to run the manual from the hard drive which is very fast. When you want to you can just print a page to mark it up or whatever.

The 100 series service manual (62 and prior) is also available for $20. I would suggest that these should be owned by anyone doing maintenance on their own plane. Worth every penny.

So now where's the favorite places to buy Cessna parts???? Chime in.

I bought that CD too. It's very convenient to have the laptop
with the electronic parts book on the display out in the hangar.

I haven't had to buy many Cessna parts yet (knock on wood!)
but Premier Aviation comes to mind (http://www.iwantcessnaparts.com)

Is there an Association list of known vendors who have parts
for our birds?

I second the motion for an approved vendor list for 170 parts. If you have found parts for your 170 at a certain place, and liked the service and quality of parts, then add it to the list for the benefit of the Association membership. I know all through the SRAM, people say that they bought such and such a part from "Cessna". Does Cessna sell parts to end users? If so, what is the contact point? Many of the vendors listed in the SRAM are contained in articles that are over 20 years old and are no longer in business. We do need an updated list of vendors so I don't have to ask the membership every time I need a little part, or spend hours calling around in Trade-a-Plane.

Speaking of service CDs, are the O-300 parts and overhaul manuals available on CD?

Looking thru my back issues of the Flypaper,I see the June & July 1995 issues each had a short (half-page or so) "source list". It appeared to be alphabetical,A&B in June, C&D in July. July promised "continued next month". I'm missing August,nothing in Sept, a few D&E sources in October,& that was the last one.
This would be a great item for the Flypaper again,or better yet the 170 News. Someone obviously had a list they were starting from the front of,maybe one of our officers could persue this? Maybe the Flypaper editor(s) from this era could shed some light on the subject?

McCurtain only lists CDs for the Cessna and Piper airplanes as well as one for the FAA Advisory circulars and two for the Cessna Avionics installations. I have the hardbound avionics books and the subject installs are so old they are worthless. Maybe there is a source for the Continental and Lycoming manuals but I have not Googled for those.
