exhaust tailpipes

Anyone have a cure for loose tailpipes? I was thinking of using the clamp with the stud, on both sides of the pipe (front and back)? It would require an additional hole in the tailpipe and pipe coming out of the muffler.

I sawed a couple of extra slots in the tail pipe under the clamp and then put shims between the clamp and the tail pipe.
