I have an annual coming up the first week of April. It seems like a good time to get my BAS handles installed. I would also like to replace all of the glass. Which manufacturer have you had the most success with for the one piece windshield and the door and rear windows? Do some glass thicknesses vary by manufacturer and if so which thicknesses are preferred? Also are there any installation secrets that my mechanic needs to know? Last but not least, who has the best clarity for the money? I just want clear glass as its already gray here in the Northwest.
We have almost always had a good fitting windshields from Great Lakes. If they required any trimming at all, it was minimal.
Normally we cut our own side windowa from bulk acrylic plastic rather than buy ready made windows.
They have a "one piece"(heavier weight) windshield for installation without the center strip that has an STC. The extra thickness abates some of the noise.
