Well there isn't one specific for the 170..... Your best bet is the Cessna 100 Series Service Manual- 1962 and prior, along with the Illustrated Parts Catalog and a Continental 0-300 overhaul manual. The Service manual dos not refer directly to 170's, but does cover early 172's (essentially 170's that Cessna accidentally put the tail wheel on backwards by mistake)
The Continental Overhaul Manual tells you just about everything you need to know about the engine. The Univair and Aircraft Spruce should both have them.

Look on this web site. You can get it for free. Although a very large file.
Good luck

If you go to the link above, it is the second item on the list. As stated it doesn't mention the 170 much but does have a lot of early C172 and C180 stuff that applies to the C170. There is no 170 specific service manual I am aware of. Also check the Owners Manual as it contains a lot maintenance stuff as well. If you don't have one you can download one from the Members Only Page (linked on the top of every page of the forum).sphillips wrote:I think micro-tools only has Parts Manual.

The 100 Series service manual is as good as we get....and the 170 is not explicitly included in the list of applicable models, but the early 172's are close enough that the manual works.

Just go to Google and type in the the words "Cessna 170 Service Manual" and it should direct you to places you can obtain a service manual.

I had the on line version and a paper copy, however my mechanic needed a "current" version , and I purchased another copy from Spruce after they promised me it was current with the lattest revision, when it arrived it was 2 revisions out of date . I had to purchase they lattest revisions from Cessna for both my parts and service manuals . I don't have the revision numbers here with me now , and I am on the road until Sunday next week.If you need it contact me and I will send you the data next week.
