I am setting up to change my sump on c145-2. I am looking for any good advice.
Is it easer to pull the engine out of the mount? What sealant should I use or don’t use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure it can be done on the engine mount. I wouldn't want to. You know you have to remove your accessory case to reinstall a new gasket at that end.
I think I'd just pull it and put it on a stand and make it easier.

Nope. You can't do it with the engine on the mount. There just simply is not enough clearance. You also have to strip down a lot of the engine. You'll have to remove the carb (it's bolted to the bottom of the sump) and intakes, exhaust as it gets in the way, accessories and accessory case (it's bolted to the back of the sump). Then... you can pull the sump. All this is infinitely easier with the engine off the airframe. Even if you strip it while still on the plane, you'll never get the sump itself off with the engine on the mount.
While it's out you might as well put in new Lord mounts, pull the engine mount and check the bushings and attach points, paint the engine mount, paint the firewall, take off the battery box and give it a good cleaning... the hip-bone is connnected to the leg-bone, the leg-bone is connected to the knee-bone...
