Wing fuel drains

Does anyone know the P/N for the fuel drains in the wing, my IPC just shows them as a plug.

I just had mine replaced yesterday. They are the push-to-drain type without the 1/4 turn lock and don't require sticking a pin up into it. They are also short enough the door won't hit them.

As Richard pointed out you can get the new drains from the source he listed. That is where I got the last ones I purchased. Keep in mind that if yours are dripping, it may be some trash in the drain or one or both of the o-rings may need replacing and not the drain itself. o-rings are easily obtained and are cheap and its an easy fix (no fuel draining required). Remove the drain and have a plug to screw into the fitting so you can look the drain over or if you choose you can put your thumb over the opening while you or a helper examines the drain and/or replaces one or both o-rings. (I would recommend having the helper use his thumb so the fuel goes down his arm, not yours :roll: ) I had one leaking recently and when I drained my tanks to replace o-rings in my fuel valve, I saw a large piece of trash that looked like a piece of red paint flake stuck in the drain valve. Removed the trash, looked at the o-rings & found them to be OK and put the drain back in. No leaks when I filled the tanks again. However, I recommend replacing the o-rings if you remove the drain since you have it in hand anyway. I happened not to have the replacement o-rings there at the time, but will get some and do so.

A little bit off the subject, years ago and I don't even recall the person or the fly in, he had a badly leaking quick drain. No one had a spare drain or a O-ring. We pulled the drain out (while someone held their thumb over the hole). The O-ring was completely gone. I happened to have some silk thread in my tool bag. I wrapped the thread around the o-ring groove enough so it would seal and stuck it back in. It held until he got home. I now keep a spare drain in my bag also.

Thanks for the reply fellas, the reason i ask is I've come upon two cessna drains p/n s2020-2 that's i've been trying to referrence to see if they'll fit. I went to Iwantcessnaparts.com and used the search to find what the plug was superceeded by and what these p/nS2020-2 brought up. They don't mention fitting the 170 but they do mention fitting the 152, 172,182, etc. in both cases. I planned on draining the fule for the annual anyway to lube the fuel selector, maybe I'll just find out the old fashion way.
