Started up 39A yesterday and noticed generator wasn't charging. After t/s, found the GEN fuse holder cracked and the wire dangling....hmmmm. Must've caught it somehow last week
Does anyone have a couple of fuse holders left over from a conversion to cb's or, if they're still available, does anyone have the part number? I could use the entire holder and connector.
I might have some from my panel change. I'll look tonight.

If John doesn't have them I probably do. In fact I know I do.
But to be honest if I were you I'd consider converting at least this one fuse holder to a modern circuit breaker. It should be much more work than that required to replace the holder.
If your interested in that idea I can post later what breaker and such that I've used to do just this.

I have thought about converting all of the fuses to CBs since I installed CBs for all of my "new" radios and nav equipment. For now though, I would like to just replace the fuse holder.
If you guys have some, let me know what you want for a couple of those and priority mail (need to get it fixed by the weekend if poss ) and I'll send a check your way.
How does free sound? I just converted my '54 B to c.b's., the fuse holders are now collecting dust. Get me your address and they will go out 2-day mail.
Dam it. Took a morning nap after night duty and wake up to find I missed a opportunity to get rid of some of my crap, I mean stuff, I mean treasure.
Yep that's it I missed a golden opportunity to relieve my precious precisely cataloged, climate controlled, storage space of a select few bits of treasure I've needed to store but will never use and at the handsome price of FREE.
Just proves once again. YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOOSE.
I may never take another nap, well, at least after the one this afternoon.

Just for info, I have fuse holders that are screw and twist. I had bought an extra piano switch panel and got the whole set with fuses.

Mine are screw and twist as well. They look like all of the "original" types that I have seen in the past: brown plasric with a metal connector/w spring that contacts the fuse.
When we did some rewiring behind the panel we installed a switched c/b and replaced the fuse with a c/b to compliment the system.
