Rudder bellcrank

Post by marstall »

The plane is a 53 model 170B. The rudder bellcrank (0433113) has a slightly oval hole where the rudder pivots. How much out-of-round is allowed? Any fix other than replacing the bellcrank?

You might drill it and "bush" it. It's replaceable as a unit, however. The part is readily available, priced about $250.

I drilled mine and put in a bushing as George suggests.... Worked out great.

Thanks for the replies. I will look at the bushing idea. Steve.
