R/H Wing landing/Taxi light

Post by jatkins »

I am considering obtaining a Canadian LSTC, to install a Landing / Taxi light in the R/H wing of My Canadian 170B. :idea:

I have a couple of general questions;

1. My research turned up no existing STC / LSTC for such a mod? (I have spoken with Harry Dellicker who has installed several of these Mods under 337 / field approvals, but advised further such approvals are questionable.)Does any know of any STC covering this mod? :?:

2. Without any specific knowledge, I believe a Canadian LSTC doesn’t apply to US registered aircraft? True or False? :?

3. If you believe you would be interested in purchasing permission to use such an STC / LSTC, please pm, or email me at johnatkins@rogers.com . I believe I could obtain a separate US, STC after I obtain Canadian approval. Initial research shows that a 50 or 60 amp generator or alternator will probably be required. My thought would be to sell copies / permission to use for $100.00 until the cost was recovered, and then donate it to the association.

Any or all, thoughts /suggestion are welcomed.

John

Bob Dentice is an FAA-DER who has obtained approvals for dual landing/taxi lites in a 170, if I recall his info correctly.
