Grimes landing light
Wondering if anyone has experience with a grimes landing light. Mine recently came down but does not want to retract a wire has become disconected and I am having trouble deciding where it should go. There is a capacitor in the wiring leading to the light. There are three wires leading to the light. Two light gauge wires and one heavy wire which appears to be hot all the time. The light wires are only hot when the light switch is in the extend or retract position. There are points which are spread when the light reaches its full travel in either direction. My problem is that I am having trouble deciding how the capacitor fits into the picture. I have the parts manual with a wiring diagram but am having trouble figuring it out. Bill K

Capacitors are usually used to prevent burning the points/contactors switches. They act as electrical shock-absorbers.
