Sealant for fuel gauge float

Post by Kurt Aichele »

Just removed the wings off of our '48 170 and found 1 of the cork floats had a small spot that is bare. Can anyone suggest a type of sealant for the cork float?

J3 Cub fuel gauges use cork floats, and a long time ago the Cub Club folks figured out that PolyFiber epoxy varnish works very well for that.
