Is my parts manual too old?

My parts manual that I have lists several of the control cables as a "NAS" number, yet all I can find are the 0510105 type numbers on cables on the internet. Is my IPC too old?

You didn't state which revision you have, but it's doubtful that the latest revision would be worth what Cessna might charge for it, because superceded numbers are automatically supplied when parts are ordered. Keep in mind that Cessna part numbers are based upon engineering drawing numbers. If you ask for a drawing number, the superceded part number will also be searched.

Just checked the date, it is February 1962, that might be the problem. I have it on micro fiche.

I'll have to check but think mine are older than that. Perhaps yours is to new.

I have a 170a parts book that is dated april 1950. so far it has worked fine. The price on it was 4.00 !

I'd like to be able to flip through a good ol' paper, three-ring binder manual. Is there a reasonably priced way to get it printed, or are these manuals offered?

Why not load it in you computer and print it? Or take the file to a office supply like Staples or Officemax as well as many others and have them print it. I'm sure printing it at home and probably at the office supply will be cheaper than the reprint from Spruce.

Well... I went to our little town's office supply/copy shop and they'll want 5¢/page. That would sure add up quickly! (There appears to be a couple thousand pages)
I'm thinking that Kinko's or Staples in the Big City would be prohibitive too, even at a lower per-page price. Guess I'll just get used to scrolling through the pages, until I find one ready-made. Thanks though, Bruce.

I downloaded my B parts manual from here http://www.micro-tools.net/pdf/Cessna/. The first 10 pages or so are updates through the 1990s. It cost $27 at Kinko's to print it.

Do what I do.....print what you need....as you need it....put it into a file.....spread out your cost.....you always have the whole book on CD.....so every thing is good......Brad
