Have a few "painted in/over screws" from a recent paint job. The shop is too far away for a casual drop by, so wondered if anyone has a technique for the removal without messing up the new surrounding paint.
The local advice I've gotten was to cut around the screw head with an Exacto knife or there is a special tool for this. If so I always need more tools.
Thx-

Re: painted in screws
I have used a sharpend brass tube( any tube that fits). The tube was not an exact fit , but very close. If you have alot to do,you will have to keep it sharp, especially if it is a two part paint( much harder).

Jim,
Here are some paint cutters by Avery Tools. I've never used them so I don't know how well they work. I would be careful not to score the aluminum under the paint. http://www.averytools.com/c-63-paint-cutters.aspx
P.S. Post a picture of your new paint job.

Thanks ya'll. Will take a look at the Avery tool and the much less costly brass pipe idea. The paint came out pretty well. There is a picture in the latest 170 News. It was used as a backdrop for an add campaign.
