Elevator Fwd Bellcrank Bearing Number

Post by mongo2 »

In the 170B IPC, fig 67, Item 1 , bellcrank, what are the correct bearings for that item? There are 2 , but I cant seem to find the number for them in the parts list on pg 111. Any help appreciated.

Rick,

I didn't find bearings when I looked in my book for you either. That leads me to believe there may not be any bearings in that location. Looking at another bell crank on the same page, number 36, there are no bearings were bolt #36A goes through it either.

I'm sure it won't be long and someone who has actually seen this part and knows for sure will chime in.

I was looking at that part this last week. It does have bearings. I get home from work Sat. I'll let you know the p/n's then if someone doesn't chime in before that.

The bearings that are currently installed are the torrington AR4-1's , 2 of them. I was just trying to verify they are correct.
Also , when installing the bellcrank, the IPC for the 170B shows the "notch or cutout" facing fwd. When I install it this way, I seem to have limited travel? Also the link or torque tube has a notch as well,an the end sizes are different. I know that I have the tube is in correctly because of that, but again the IPC shows no notch in the tube. I think the IPC bellcrank illustration may be incorrect. Not Sure.

This problem has been discussed previously at:
http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtop ... 159#p49660

(It appears the IPC page 110 does indeed have the item 1, PN 0510159, Bellcrank-Elevator, Forward, improperly illustrated.)

Thank you George for the info. I will make the necessary changes. I will assume that the AR4-1 bearings are correct
as well.

Rick,
Two Torrington AR-4-1 are what I have in my forward bellcrank.
