Where to Find Wing Fairings?

Post by j3pup »

The plane I recently purchased was supposed to have all the parts with it, the only problem is the wing fairings are missing. Does anybody know where I can find them?

If you are referring to the rear wing root fairings that are above the rear window, I would suggest salvage (Wentworth ,etc) but I also
believe I saw a set on ebay, keyword CESSNA, then parts and accessories.
The upper fwd strips that wrap around the Leading edge and under I was missing as well, and can be fabricated from some 2024-T3 sheet stock, just remember to keep the grain going the long way.

You know there is a B model disassembled in a maintenance hanger at my airport. It is not mine. I'm on good terms with the mechanic who is not the owner of the airplane. If the fairings are just laying there I'm sure it would be OK for me to trace a pattern. If you want me to investigate let me know exactly which fairings your looking for. Of course you could always swing by UKT meet me and take mine off and trace them. My plane isn't going anyplace.

Guys thank you both I am talking about the ones that wrap around the front....

I take it since you arent just offering measurements that they aren't perfect rectangles?

Bruce, I may take you up on that, is your runway open yet? I have access to a 150 I can fly out there. I am not sure if I need the extenders and any other parts shown in the IPC yet either.

Yes the runway is open. Let me know when you'd like to meet up. I'm working nights through Monday night but could meet tomorrow or Monday afternoon. I'm off for a week starting Tuesday morning.

They are pretty rectangular but they attach at the front at an angle.

I have at least one set, maybe 2, for a B model. They aren't that difficult to make either. yjlopes91@yahoo.com if you are interested.
