Jason, check the installation instruction--It should list the props and Climb, cruise and std. Also the seaplane prop is approved. I don't have mine in front of me right now but If this is not on your paperwork let me know there-- you may not have all. there should be a diagram with the vacuum pump also.

W, the O-300-CCA is the A. this means the c was changed to the A.

Vic, reading the post on the 337 you have--That is exactly what started the STC (SA-7441-SW). Be sure that your 337 specifies the prop (em series). Some of the old 337 just stated that the engine was swaped out to the O-300-c/d and installed with an approved prop, others stated engine changed and installed with EM series prop. the prop EM series was not approved on the 170 and therfore may come back to bite you if there is ever a insurance claim. Yea I know legality crap again-- if yours does not spefically mention the EM prop buy the STC and then at least insurance wise it is legal. Ron

Looks like you can buy the company now. It's "an amazing investment opportunity".

THANKS RON

I thought as much, I have listed my c-172 for sale and was reading though the engine log again to make sure everything is up to snuff. In 1968 at MOH a new crank was installed and the entery was list as "change from o-300-C to a o-300 CCA" didn't understand the "CC" part

Dubya, that process of converting one engine model (within a series) to another is addressed by TCM SB 75-6R1, a copy of which is in the MX Library. See paragraph (3): "On other models, impression stamp the letter "C" after the existing model letter (or number) and then impression stamp the new designation letter per the following example:
IO-470-U to IO-470-V = IO-470-UCV "

I am surprised your logbook entry did not reference "per TCM SB75-6R1".
