Test flying a C170A?

Post by Gooney »

Folks I think that I have found my lady in waiting, I need any info with regards what needs to be check on the test flight (from start up out to sutdown), has anyone done flight test before or have any suggestions as to what I should be looking for, I would greatly appreciate as much input as possible. If anyone has a flight test schedule to follow that would be great!

Many thanks.

Ian, that airplane you contacted me about has a "cruise" propeller. Don't be surprised to find it requires 20% more runway for takeoff and climbs 20% less feet/minute than the standard book figures. Otherwise, use the owner's manual to perform the pre-flight and look for hands-off stability in cruise flight. 2450 rpm should give you a true airspeed of 104 knots in ISA conditions.
