Pretty neat idea! I hope you post more photos as you progress.
Is that via Field Approval or STC?

Re: The super 170
I put the skylights in as a minor alteration, since the aerodynamics, and structure is unnafected, or made stronger because the new roof is .040.
I plan on using these on final, photo ops flight where close flying is common, hunting, basic visual safety, heck maby ill do some fish spotting, also it's badass.
If anybody wants to do this mod pm me and I'll email you the cad file and plans to do this.
How do I bend the edges around to hug the glass as seen on the rear window in the 170? Any ideas?

Re: The super 170
Similar to this tool except it uses bar stock to mount two 1/4 inch wide bearings. Elongate one hole to adjust for metal thickness. Then form a "T" handle on one end or a T handle on both ends for more control and run tool along the metal edge through the slot. Bottom the metal in the slot and hold the bar in a bind to form the break which ends up to be 1/4 inch wide and at whatever angle you have chosen to bind. Alot of tungue chewing but it works! Working around the corners is the most difficult part of the process.Aryana wrote:I use this edge forming tool to put the bend in that you need: http://www.cleavelandtoolstore.com/prod ... umber=EF60
Other sizes can be made by using different sized bearings but the 1/4 inch is pretty standard for the break width!
I'm still working on the picture issue. I think there is a thread on how to import pic's into messages.

Aircraft Spruce has a hole flanging tool that will fit your needs p/n 12-00600. Looks just like the one I use all of the time. If the nylon rollers end up to be to wimpie change them to ball bearings
