New Cylinders
Any recommendations on whose cylinders I should use on my major.

Re: New Cylinders
I had excellent service with Superior cylinders when they first became available at a cost well below any others. I have to give them credit for bringing down all the other prices.

Re: New Cylinders
I've put 700 hours on a Superior cylinder with no problems.... however, I have no qualms about TCM. Either should be good, so consider warranty, price and product support.

When I installed the Superior cylinders, when they first came on the market, they cost just slightly over half what factory cylinders sold for. Continentals price came well down shortly afterwards. I guess everything is well up now.

Re: New Cylinders
I put a set of new Superior Millenium cylinders on my C-180 1250 hours ago in 1996. They are still running strong with no problems since new. If I had bought Continental cylinders at the same time instead of Superiors, they would have been removed three times for ADs.
I also have not had any problems with the new ECI nickel-carbide cylinders on the O-300-D engine with 254 hours put on in 2006.

Re: New Cylinders
Thanks guys, Looks like there is no clearly better product. My mechanic recently installed an ECI that immediately had a stuck valve due to misalligned guide out of the box. He refuses to touch an ECI. He tells me TCM wants about 1000 per cylinder and superior is around 940 per. I think I wil go with Superior. What should I do with my old cylinders I believe they could be yellow tagged. Are they worth anything 60 years old. Steve
