From time to time I have noticed mine will show about 200 ft higher than actual airport altitude.(with correct Baro setting) It seems to change more on long flights at low altitude. If I fly above 5,000 and come down there is little if any change. It is to the point I'm trusting my I pad more than it. Might be some wear in it that needs attention. A local guy gave me Mid Continent phone # and I can see a tag on it saying Western avaition.
Anyone have a fair priced "Favorite place" to send instruments for repair?

They did my altimeter two years ago. I can't remember the price but they are really great people and will work with you if you tell them you need it back soon.
They had a six-o-clock dial altimeter already on the shelf so I just swapped it out to save time.
Since then, I've sent my ASI and VSI to them as well. just good people up there.

Re: Altimeter
I have in the past few years had every instrument rebuilt or replaced. I have always used Century Instrument in Oklahoma. The prices are fair, service is great and never any surprises. They also facilitated the repair of a wind up 8 day clock, even though they didn't actually do the work, they have many resources to serve your needs. The best job they did for me my tachometer. I purchased a salvaged unit sent it in, and was returned to me with all new face and hours set to represent the total time on airframe which just makes things easier. Good luck on your maintenance.
