I have installed most of the interior with the new instrument panel, radio wiring, interior trim is next,
Can some one fix this?
The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 1 MiB.

Re: 3934V interior
Tom, thanks for providing your photos. Looks like you took on quite a project
I am curious about something in your plane. The rudder pedals on the co-pilot side
If I am seeing what I think I am seeing
I have never seen that in a C-170. I know that rudder pedals were optional on later B models in an attempt to hold down the cost and supposedly compete with Piper. I am trying to remember if I ever have seen a 170 without right hand/co-pilot rudder pedals. If I did it must have only been one.

Frank. Tom's plane has right hand pedals. Those are the stock pedals when right side brakes are not installed. Tom's is the third 170 I've ever seen without brakes on the right side.

Nice looking airplane Tom. You've got to get rid of that pointy spinner though. It just doesn't fit.

I learned to fly in my dad's 48 170. It had the exact same rudder pedal set up without brakes on the right side. It was 3914V.

The link is unavailable according to my browser/webserver.
The '56 B-model had reduced standard amenities in order to encourage prospective buyers into the new '56 172 (which it was feared might not be attractive due to it's new tric-cycle landing gear. Yep, Cessna kinda missed-the-boat when they worried about that, heh?)

Wasn't available at first for me either but it did eventually work. Many pictures there. Don't know how we could make it easier.gahorn wrote:The link is unavailable according to my browser/webserver.

The bullet spinner backing plate does not fit the 0-300-D crank flange, so the pointy spinner must stay.Bruce Fenstermacher wrote:Nice looking airplane Tom. You've got to get rid of that pointy spinner though. It just doesn't fit.

Or you could just put the original skull cap spinner back on.
oh, did I just start up that debate again?

BTW, the project looks incredible so far. It's going to be a beautiful 170!

Re: 3934V interior
As David points out round about the bullet spinner isn't correct either. The skull cap was the spinner from Cessna through and including the '52 B model.

But the bullet looks so much better!

That would be a matter of taste Ryan. The bullet looks more correct than the pointy spinner. Depending on the bullet spinner, your appreciation for it might dwindle once you try to remove the screws for the cowl found behind it.Ryan Smith wrote:But the bullet looks so much better!

Re: 3934V interior
My dad taught me a few new words while trying to get the cowling off more than once. He capitulated and bought a skull cap shortly thereafter.
