Your airspeed indicator could be off that much. If no turbulence was present, the recovery was smooth,....a visual inspection for wrinkled skins on the aft-lower wing and a check for cracks/wrinkles on the horiz. stab/rear bulkhead would probably be sufficient to reassure you.

John - just to be certain. What speed are do you consider VNE to be - 140 or 160 IAS?

I'll have to go to the hanger and check.....Whatever the redline on the airspeed indicator is at....
