Shock mounts
I need new engine/shock mounts. Spruce doesn't have them. Lord doesn't list the 170 in their database. Any ideas?

Re: Shock mounts
Are you referrring to TCM PN 23411, engine mount bushing, rubber?
It's a funny thing.... YOu know there's a company that has multiple distribution points all around the country that handles these things? (where's my tongue-in-cheek emoticon when I need it?)
www.cessnaparts.com Hill Aircraft, a genuine Cessna distributor.
(Pull out your checkbook, but let them know you're a 170 Assoc'n Member for discount from the $72 pkg of TWO price.)

Funny how here in the forums I can find things that my AI cannot. Guess he is used to "newfangled" airplanes.

Re: Shock mounts
Fresno Airparts has these engine mounts, p/n 23411, for $37.50 each -- about half the cost of Cessna. Email: fresnoairparts (AT) att.net Phone: (559) 237-4863

Re: Shock mounts
gparker,
No need to be surprized at the lack of savvy of some A & P mechanics and even some with the IA. I am acquainted with an A & P with the IA who has NEVER in his life ever done any work on an airplane. He went to a school down in Nashville (I think) and got the original "license" and in a few years wound up with an IA. To his credit, he does not work as an airplane mechanic.
There are apparently ways and means.
