I like the looks of these but do they deliver the benefits promised?

Pete,
I've not personally used these. But I am aware of the aerodynamics envolved which can lead to all of their claims in varying degrees. Based on similar tips and other aerodynamic tricks which do the same stuff I wouldn't be surprised if you see all these improvements. I also wouldn't be surprised you find some or all of their claims don't stack up. If I was to make a dollar bet I'd bet you find they do something to improve the performance of your plane. There has to be some reason Cessna switched to this style when they could have just make more simple symmetrical interchangeable tips which would have been cheaper to make or buy.
If you like them buy them and don't look back.

When did Cessna switch to the Hoerner tips? (I believe they developed a totally different tip, as shown in Hoerners own sales literature.)Bruce Fenstermacher wrote:...There has to be some reason Cessna switched to this style ....

Your right George. I made this mistake before. Cessna developed a droop tip which uses different aerodynamic tricks to achieve the same thing as the Heorner design.
