Spark Plug part number

Post by BlakeinAlabama »

What is the best plug to use in our engines? I am not at the hangar right now and I don't know what I have in it now. Can someone tell me which ones we use? Thx, Blake in Alabama

RHM40E, if you have the 3/4" version or REM40E for the 5/8". We both should n=have the 3/4". I just bought the Tempest URHM40E's and installed them.

The most common are REM40E.

Uh-oh - did I just install the wrong ones? I referred to the Champion spark plug guide. If I keep the RHM is it going to cause me any heartache? I haven't fired up the engine, yet....

If your wiring harness fitted up to the plug...then you're good to go! (The difference is the size of the "nut" which screws onto the plug.)

George,
Aren't you going to go into the numbers and the heat range on the plugs?

Just because he asked...

The numbers indicate the heat-range...higher is hotter, lower is cooler. (The range is from 26 to 50)

The MX Library has a chart in the Engine section which includes the Champion brochure about this:
