Lost the key to magneto ignition;. Bendix 4 position w pull start. 0 145 1954 c 170B
Realize that I could remove the magneto ignition switch from panel , take to locksmith and rekey. Reinstall.
I now own another Bendix magneto switch (EBAY) with key.
My question is May I simply replace (swap) the lock tumbler systems Without removing the original ignition switch from panel?
Is the key tumbler module replaceable ?
Is there any advantage to purchasing new assembly from A/S for $ 375.00?
Regards

Re: magneto iginition key
I don't lose keys
Misplace for a few month Yes, Show up in a "safe " place a year later.
My last cessna key went with a stolen wallet.
Lock It and Pocket the Key is pretty much ingrained.
I am hearing stories about new autos that unlock the door when you approach and then you PUSH a button to start. Never turn a key!
