Someone here asked about protecting the paint on their Cowl and Spinner while removing the Cowl, here is something that has worked for me.

johneeb,
What did that spinner come off of, please? I never did find a spinner that I liked the shape of on my TCM IO-360 with the McCauley CS prop.

Dick,
I do not know what aircraft the spinner is used on, Tom Anderson found it for me. When I have time I will root around in my logs and see if I can find a number for it.

John.
Don't go to a lot of trouble for me on the spinner. I was just curious because the only spinner I could find that would fit with the cowling was a pointed model and I never liked the look of it on the C-170.

I'd like to know what spinner that is as well as I'm doing the 360 conversion on 95D.
And I dont like the pointy one either.
If I could get it approved, I'd go without a spinner at all. Cooling probably wouldn't be an issue.

Prettier than a pointy spinnerblueldr wrote:David,
A bare McMacualy CS prop hub is NOT a thing of beauty!

That and I like the way it looks bare on a Skymaster.

That's because it's the best looking part of the airplane.bagarre wrote:That and I like the way it looks bare on a Skymaster.blueldr wrote:David,

John's spinner really finishes the airplane well. John, in my opinion, went to great lengths to make his airplane appear as unmodified as possible, which adds to the beauty of his mods. It's a sweet, sweet, airplane and flies every bit as good as it looks.

Re: Cowl-Spinner protection
I obtained my spinner from Harry Delicker company . It had a rough surface very good for painting but we chose to polish it. The thickness of the spinner is very thick , couldn't be happier with it .
