Control Surface Balancing

Post by drewsey4516 »

I just painted my airplane and we are reinstalling the control surfaces. Does anyone know the correct balance in ft/lbs for the ailerons and rudder? I found a discussion from several years ago that gave the correct numbers for the elevators but I still need the other two. The repair manual does not list the figures. I have a '53 170B. Thanks folks, Mike Stahlman

Drew, follow the below link and drill down to the last page to find the balance limits for the 170s.
