Exhaust system for C-145-2
I have a 1948 Cessna 170 that is in dire need of a new exhaust system. Currently there is a pancake style exhaust system that's on there and it pretty much looks like swiss cheese. Do you guys have recommendations for places to buy an exhaust system for the old gal? Currently looking at aircraft spruce and aerospace welding (in Minneapolis). Thanks in advance!

Didn't know you could get all the parts such as the heat shrouds, from Spruce. AW is highly recommended.
You want to get a system for a '52. This will be tow of the same mufflers and heat shrouds. Basically the left side and the right side are identical systems.
Do not be confused with the later '53 and on system that does not have the same muffler and heat shroud left and right (and BTW you can not get the critical front fresh air intake cone which looks like a funnel).

I sent you a PM of a guy that has a decent se of exhaust from a '52 for sale. He doesn't have the shrouds but those are just a pice of wrapped stainless that's easy to make.ssnguyen4203V wrote:I have a 1948 Cessna 170 that is in dire need of a new exhaust system. Bruce was referring to AWI in MInnesota. Charlie Fields is the man you want to talk to. They are supporters of our Assoc'n. and will give you great service and price.
