Hi Del. Thanks, I remember that post from earlier this year. I called YingLing and spoke to their parts guy. It sounds like both boots are still available. The 1235040-5 boot is a flat piece of rubber that you have to glue around the edge. The S1938-3-68.00 is the molded boot like you show in the picture in that thread. SO that is the one I'll get.
I'll use 1300L cement to glue them down. The Accessory Kit instructions also mention a sealer to put behind the trailing edge to form a fillet. Does anyone do that? I saw one post where they mention to use Goodrich de-ice cement A-56-B.

Long overdue answer............I don't recall using the Goodrich product. I would think the Flamemaster Corp. product that we use to put fillet seals around windows would be fine. It has great adhesion, and you can buy it in black. Product # is 'CS-3204 B-1/2 BLACK' (or B-2........the dash number is the work life in hours).
Now a curious question for anybody that has ordered and/or installed the 1232040-3 or -5 abrasion boots; can anybody confirm if they are formed/extruded, or just flat? I'm guessing flat, but have never ordered this PN#.
I am needing to install some abrasion boots on a 182T. I like the extruded S1938-3 much better, but the Textron website has a note that they can only be installed to tailwheel models, for all other models use the 1232040-5. I can't think of a reason why it would matter. The extruded boots may be just a little bit heavier, but 182T with the IO-540 Lycoming powerplant definitely doesn't have an aft CG problem.
