Doyn O-340 to O-360

Post by bjan11 »

Hey folks,

I posted in the TradeMart section looking to see if there are any off-market planes people are interested in selling. One member responded with a plane that looks very promising, except for one thing: it has the orphan Doyn O-340 engine. I've read everything I can find about this conversion on this forum, and it appears that the Doyn O-360 conversion ended up being held by someone different to the 340 conversion, and the person in question is extremely hard to get hold of.

Has anyone managed to pull off a Doyn 340 to 360 conversion? If so, how did you do it?

Failing that, does anyone know of a reason why it would *not* be possible to install a Stoots IO-360 kit on a B model with a Doyn 340 conversion? I don't think my budget will run to a Stoots, but I figured I'd ask.

Bruce
