2870s would be awfully heavy for a stock powered C-170, buy might work out pretty well with a Continental IO-360 conversion. The C-170 and the C-180 airframes are close enough alike that I believe the mounting struts and other attaching gear would work. Of course the FUZZ would probably have a hard time with it.,

I'm looking to find anyone who has had or knows of someone who had a 170 with 2440 floats on it. I have a 170B with a IO 360 and looking to put bigger floats on it. It would be nice to find someone had a one time field approval. TKS Wally
