Post by cfiatzph »

What is the aprox cost of a wing rebuild? How about a horizontal, vertical, tail feathers etc.? Anybody ever done this? I would like to get mine rebuilt to factory.

Thanks

And for wings, Williams in Indiana does excellent work.

Wing/tail/control rebuilders

Post by gwillford »

Hail beat me to placing my newly acquired 53 in my new hangar by one day :( (yeah it was insured). As a result, I had to have the tops of my wings, flaps, ailerons, elevators, and horizontal reskinned. I had them do the bottoms of the control surfaces also since they were apart. I took them all to Williams Airmotive as mentioned earlier in this string. Was pleased. Seems like it was about $11,000 about 2-3 years ago for all with me dropping them off and picking it up.

It kind of depends where you're located. Packing and shipping can be a substantial expense.
I've had good experience with West Coast Wings in Ukiah, CA.

I concur - West Coast Wings rebuilt my flaps and I'm very happy with the results.
