I'm posting this as an offering/illustrations to those who've found themselves looking for an obscure part ... and wondering how to find it.
In the last couple of days, a Member emailed me looking for a "window seal". The exchange went something like this:
====================
Email #1: Hi George. Can you tell me where to get the window seal for my airplane?
Response #1: Hi JohnDoe! Which window seal?
Email #2: The one for my right window.
Response #2: Hello again, JohnDoe! It would be helpful if I knew which airplane you have, and exactly which window seal you are looking for.... and for which window...the door window? or the rear seat window?
Email #3: The door window. I have a 170.
Response#3: Ok, for a ragwing then. Do you mean the seal that wraps around the glass inside the frame? Or do you mean the weatherstripping that seals the window-frame to the door?
Day Two, Email #4: No. I have a 1955 170 with metal wings. I need the window seal for the right door.
Response #4: OK, you have a Cessna 170-B, then. Do you mean the window seal in the window frame that actually seals the window to the frame? Or do you mean the rubber seal/weatherstripping that seals the openable frame to the door?
Day Three, Email #5: I need the window seal.
Response #5: Not a lecture... only an attempt to help for the future....
If it hasn't become apparent thru this exchange, then I should tell you that if you own one of these airplanes you simply MUST HAVE an Illustrated Parts Catatlog...not only so whomever you talk to will know what you are discussing, but also so you and they can actually visualize the assembly.
What you are describing, I believe, is found on Pages 62-63 of the 170-B IPC, Fig. 34, item 38, Seal-Window Glass, Part Number 0511106-103.
A call to any Cessna distributor will discover they have superceded that Part Number to:
R761483 SEAL Stock Available $ 2.41 (FT)
My favorite way to locate Cessna parts is to first try a Cessna Distributor. One of those that offer direct access to the factory inventory is Hill Aircraft, Atlanta, GA. Their website will let you enter any part number and see available stock, as well as the price.

If you tell them you found them thru your Int'l Cessna 170 Assoc'n, it'll go a long way to getting you.... a discount...and the Assoc'n some recognition so I can call on them for support for the club.
Or you can contact them at:
Parts Dept.#: 404-505-2074 | Fax#: 404-696-3922 | Toll Free#: 1-800-998-7832
Another way to seal windows is with common felt, found at fabric stores.
I assume you are replacing windows? ...because it's rare that particular seal ever needs replacement. Usually it's the weatherstripping that is deteriorated.
I hope this helps.
Very Best regards
George
