Clevelands with wheelpants

Post by KAP54 »

I am going to replace the Goodyear brakes with Clevelands when the kit arrives and was wondering about the mounting bracket for the wheel pants, part #'s 0441143 dash 8 and dash 9. I am assuming that at the very least these will need to be modified to fit the different shape or the Cleveland caliper. My question to those of you who have done this mod is -Is it possible to modify the old plates or will I need to find a different plate to work with the Clevelands. If a new plate is needed, what would be the part #'s and a good source to find them? Thanks.

The original back/mount plate should do just fine. Mount the brake caliper, draw the outline/cutout on the plate, and open it up to accomodate the caliper. Be sure to relieve it sufficiently to allow for movement.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
