I am trying to replace the bearing on my elevator control horn, p/n AN200KS4 on figure 26 of the A model PM. I checked with Cessna, that p/n was superceded by MS27645-4. I got the new bearing from Genuine Aircraft Hardware and it has p/n MS27645-4A and it's too small. Does the -4A mean something different than the just the -4? I had the old bearing pressed out of the horn and noticed that it looked like the old bearing had a sleeve around, thought that I might have not pressed out the actual bearing from the sleeve, but the PM only shows the bearing, and I missing something or do I have the wrong bearing?
Thanks for any help in advance...
v/r,
Jud

Rupert, how much money are we talking about? (Of course, from their standpont they cannot offer an opened product for resale to someone else.)

The bearing itself was $22, but of course it was during annual and I paid $48 to get it shipped here ASAP. And I only went with Genuine because they were the only ones that had the elevator bearings that I could find, so I thought I'd save in shipping and have all four bearings coming from the same place. Turns out I had to wait a week for them to get the 3 elevator bearings and Spruce had the bearing that was mixed up for only $17 and they would have shipped via USPS for $0.87 and probably made it here faster.
I do understand their policy about open parts due to the QA they have.
Like I said, an expensive lessoned learned, but isn't that what owning an airplane is all about?
By the way George, I completed the SK-70A52-4 Tailwheel upgrade during annual along with replacing the angle and skin between the last two bulkheads. Really made a big difference in strength and ground handling. Air Repair, Inc helped a great deal with parts and service.
