When attending OSH this year my cabin door passanger side assembly took a turn for the worse. The "Catch" door latch page 60 parts manual item 0411552 is falling off due to the pin that holds it is missing and the bottom part of the bracket THAT THE PIN GOES THRU is ALSO BROKEN OFF. I called "UNIVAR" who tells me they have nothing. I then went to AvPac who quoted the small door latch at $145. This latch is about 1/2 inch / 1/2. they must love that part. Anyway I need the assembly that connects the latch , which I'll call tumbler to the assembly.
Experience NEEDED. ANY HELP APPRECIATED
FRED

Re: Cabin door
You mean item 37, PN 0411552, of course.derf62 wrote:When attending OSH this year my cabin door passanger side assembly took a turn for the worse. The "Catch" door latch page 60 parts manual item 0411552 ...

Do you mean item 36? Or item 40?derf62 wrote:...that holds it is missing and the bottom part of the bracket THAT THE PIN GOES THRU...

Whoa! Don't go re-naming things AND not identifying them or we'll NEVER know exactly what you mean!

(Serriously, I have no idea what that last sentence means, Fred.)
Also, In this case I checked the B-model IPC first out of luck...but there are THREE parts manuals for THREE model airplanes.
Everyone, I'm not pickin' on Fred. He just happened to give me an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how we all sometimes THINK we're being clear.... but actually sometimes confuse the issue. If we want folks to take time to pull out their manuals and look for stuff.... then pull out YOUR manuals (like Fred did)... but be CERTAIN to identify your airplane, always by Model and also by SERIAL NUMBER when discussing parts. AND be certain to specify EXACTLY which page, Figure, and ITEM number (and if possible...PART number.) That way we're all on the same page. (Literally.)
Hint: Researching parts is time-consuming, and full of opportunity for errors. (And it gets even worse if time and money is wasted removing and shipping the wrong parts!) One cannot expect OTHERS to use their time to look up things and identify them accurately if WE'RE the ones who need the part and don't value the time necessary for accuracy.

Clarification of needs along with Geo's recommendations
DOOR LATCHCessna 170 B, N8109A, Serial # 20961, located at 35KY
CESSNA 170 B Parts Catalog, page 60 & 61.
Broken Part # Item 36 Part #0511112-2, page 61
Missing, Item 48, Part #NAS41-3-1
Item 36 has two tabs (here I go again) where the shaft item 48 goes thru. Missing the lower tab, don't know what else to call it?
To me it looks like I could use all parts,Items #36 thru # 48 if sold as a kit?
I hope that this is clearer. I still need help and any advice in making this repair. In the future I shall do my best to be accurate when identifying parts and shall never again re-name a part
