Throttle cable to carb arm swivel (rod ends)

Post by Lionchoker »

Anyone have a source for these swival connectors? Recently found two aircraft with worn-out, about to fall off throttle arm connectors.
Part number could be 0550158; also, called 'ball joint.' Univair can't get them anymore. Lionchoker

Throttle Cable conection

Post by Patrick Phillips »

Use a hiem bearing, AN drilled bolt, and penny wahser, thats how they do it these days, those old ball joints are dangerous as far as I concerned, I tightend one up to elimate the slop and the ball started jaming....Throw it away.....

I'd attach a picture of my setup but can't figure how to do it on this site. Send me a PM and I'll e-mail a pic to you.

Ball Joint Replacement

Post by 170C »

When I replaced my throttle cable earlier this year I discovered my attachment item (throttle to carb arm) was worn out and I couldn't locate a duplicate. Purchaed an item like George posted and it needed a washer on either side as a safety. Works like a charm!
