Can of you ragwing guys tell me if there is a grommet or anything around the pitot tube as it comes through the leading edge? If not, how is it installed?

Thanks.

Mine has clear plastic tubing on the tube where pitot tube comes out - I think it had a grommet before we covered the wings...dunno if the part manual says anything - it's not near me, it's 500 (driving) miles away. :D

A 5/16" rubber grommet is installed at that point. It's not difficult. Remove any pitot-cover/protector, slide the lubricated grommet over the pitot tube, and using a small flat screwdriver or pick, insert one edge of the grommet into position and work your way around the grommet until it's fully inserted. Replace the pitot cover/protector. My favorite lubricant for this job? What else? WD40!

WD40 may work OK on that job, but my girl friend has some really amazing cold cream.

That's not the same kind of "pitot tube" we are talking about, DICK! :P

Well, I sure as hell can't see myself trying WD40 as a substitute for Sweeties cold cream!

bluelder,
Just pour a gallon of WD-40 in the water softner.....no need for cold cream and it keeps the coffee pot real clean......
