In stripping off the old wire behind the panel I found this part. Any idea what it is? A capacitor maybe?

Filter

Post by Dennis »

Hi Gary, Take a look at your IPC Fig 92 item 11. Its a filter for the optional Nav Lite Flasher. I found the flasher under my panel. The 2 parts are supposed to be instld on the glove box. These parts are superseded by more modern parts. The flasher under my panel got hot enough to cook breakfast so I removed it and rewired the nav lites. Good luck with your adventure under the instmt pnl. Regards Dennis N1891C

Thanks Dennis. With the Narco p/n I had assumed it was somehow connected to some avionics removed decades ago. If anyone is going for the totally original restoration you're welcome to have the filter.
