Placards

Where can I find ready to apply 170A Placards, specifically for the fuel selector valve and the trim control/indicator?

Aircraft Spruce pg. 322 $56.00 or Wag-Aero pg. 113 $59.95. These are sheets with placards for the 170/172/175 models so you'll get more than just strictly 170 placards.

Wag-Aero also sells just the fuel selector placard for $10.50. A/C Spruce probably does as well, but I'm not able to find it at the moment.

I installed the fuel selector placard from Wag-Aero and it worked fine.
Let me know where and if you find the trim placard

And if you really want to go first class..... check out Aircraft Spruce's PN 05-00227 for $49.95. A completely new issue, FAA-PMA approved Fuel selector plate complete with the placards engraved into the unit and anodized.

That fancy stuff is too spendy for me! I just xeroxed the placard text off a copy of the TCDS and scotch-taped it to the circuit-breaker sub-panel and to the back of the baggage compartment. Can't hardly see it,but it's there and I'm legal! (nobody ever reads that stuff anyway!)

Find a picture of the placards you want, or find a plane with the placards you want, then take a picture of them, take that to your friendly sign guy in town. They can photo copy those and make them any color and size you want. it will be a stick on transfer, they work great, and once they scan them in their computer, they can make as many as you like, change sizes, colors etc. they can also make them up from scratch, so you can make placards that say anything, and they can make them in any shape and size.
