C170b O360 Governor

Post by excelsiorav »

Hello I need Help, Im working on a 1953 C170B that has an AVCON Lycoming O360 with Hartzell C/S Prop.

The Constant speed governor has been lost and the records are in complete....can any one tell me what
is the P/N and model of the governor that I need...It mounts at the back of the engine.

If you have one I would be interested to buy it.

Thanks Jono

The STC paperwork should spell out the part number required. There's several ways to go with this but probably the determining factor will be the fashion in which the control cable is supported, retained and connected to the governor. Got a pic of your installation or what's left of it? If all fails you may be able to get a new unit and mounting hardware from Harry Delicker that will work but it will set you back 2K.

Looks like I was able to help Jonathon out with a prop governor, bracket and nose bowel for his project. :D Lance

That's fantastic! So, since you've both discovered the value in visiting the Cessna 170 forums, .... maybe you should both JOIN! (grin) (Normally only Members are permitted to advertise, and only Members are allowed to sell items here.)

PS- Lance has also been very helpful in solving other members mx problems by submitting info/pics/and documentation. Thanks, Lance!
