Annual Inspection // Prebuy

Post by jaime72 »

Hi all,

I am at the airport in Anchorage headed to the PNW to HOPEFULLY make an offer on a '54 170B AVCON Conversion. Annual inspection to follow soon. Woo woo woo!

So I have been perusing some time. I had previously come across a couple of great threads for what should be included as a minimum for a 170B Annual. I can't find it! I have tried every search string and it escapes me! WHERE IS IT? ACK!

I am meeting an A&P who is currently working on three 170's for clients, one of which belongs to his son, an Alaska Air 737 pilot. Obviously he should have a good idea, but I wanted this list to help me out.

Any other suggestions on what I should be looking for? I have been torturing those I know with AVCON 170's here in Alaska for information and they have been great help, but the Owners Association is huge! That's why I threw down the cash for a membership!

Thanks in advance and wish me luck. And look forward to my future pestering I hope. I am already putting my list together. :D

Jaime, I'm glad to hear you will be using an annual inspection as your pre-buy inspection. That's the only way to go, in my opinion. The FAA and the Owner's Manuals for these airplanes have suggested inspection items, as does these forums in the MX Library (which you seem to have found.)

Keep us posted on how it goes, and post some pictures!

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
