YES!

I believe it normally has an overflow vent to accomodate thermal expansion of the fuel.

My Javelin Aux tank does not have a vent that I can see.
I have looked at the drawings I have for the installatiion, and see no
indcation of a vent any where ?

I put a vented cap on it, and I seem to have no problems.

My Javelin did not have a seperate vent. It had a vented cap that looked like a vented automotive gas cap of the era. The installation instructions paper work also did not show a seperate vent.
