Cabin Radio Speaker

Post by RWOgle »

Does anyone know the difference between the original cabin speaker (0411062-2) and the later replacement speaker from Cessna (0411062-4)? I recently had the occasion to remove my old headliner and discovered that my speaker installation is non-standard and I am trying to return it to the original configuration. My current speaker has no part number on it but I know it's not correct because it does not attach directly the the cabin roof as depicted on page 117A of the illustrated parts manual and it does not fit the Baffle Assembly correctly. Pictures of the -2 and -4 speakers would be useful. If someone has an old -2 speaker on hand (working or not) and would be willing to sell, it would be a great help as I could use it to get the spacing correct for the headline bows that attach to the Baffle Assembly. Finally has anyone installed the -4 speaker in their plane?

As I remember the baffle assy attaches to the roof by screws that tie into the roof stiffeners . Yes the speaker had or has long screws that come from the top cabin roof and screw into the speaker base magnet assy but not having a stock speaker will not prevent you from correctly positioning the baffle assy and the bows plus as it's all covered.....
