recent annual on my '52 B was good except for one big issue - mechanic says "bellcrank - rudder" (part # 0433113) is cracked and needs replacement or ship is not airworthy. Problem is Cessna's Dept. of Fleecing says part is $850!!!!!!!!!! Don't know yet on condition of the bearing but I expect the worst there too on condition and price. Options on alternative sources please . . .

"Bad news"? sounds like good news to me. What if he hadn't found it? That would be the bad news.
