Hi all,
I am getting a quote from a local shop to Cerakote my exhaust system on my airplane. They have questions about the end caps of the mufflers because the coating I’m getting on the stacks is flame applied and they are concerned it will burn through the mufflers. I’d prefer to have the higher temp coating, so I’m hoping someone has some data on material and thickness of the stock Hanlon & Wilson exhaust so they can determine whether the higher temp coating will work on that or not.
Thank you!
Ryan

Re: Muffler Construction?
I suggest you contact Charlie Felds up at AWI for this question as they have FAA-PMA to mfr these muffs.

Thanks, George.
I considered that, but I wasn’t sure how similar the two were. I’ll give him a ring.

I understand the FAA-PMA muffs mfr’d by AWI are vitually identical to the OEM Hanlon-Wilson products by reverse engineering.Ryan Smith wrote:Thanks, George.
